Highlights
While I was caught up in my projects, I failed to recognize the underlying emotions that were driving me. A sense of overwhelm, fear, and insecurity lingered right below conscious awareness. There was also a vindictive voice in my mind saying, “Now I’ll finally show my mother what I’m capable of and earn her love.” For so long, I wanted her validation of my creative potential and unconsciously approached my projects to get it. These hidden motivational forces covertly undermined the very authenticity I was attempting to bring forth in the world.
